Cord Cutting: St. Lucia’s Night

In This Journey:

This is a ritual-based cord cutting held through light, witness, and intentional action rather than visualization alone. The use of candles, salt, and simple tools grounds the release in the body and the senses, allowing separation to happen slowly, visibly, and with care. This journey leans into ritual as a stabilizing container, where the act of cutting is paired with reverence, timing, and choice, rather than urgency or emotional force.

Supplies Needed:

  • Candles to represent you and the person you are cutting a cord with

  • Twine

  • Salt

  • A small container that will hold both candles (or many if you need more than 2) nestled into salt

  • Lighter or matches

  • Essential oils or herbs that feel supportive to you (commonly used ones are white angelica, rosemary, juniper, lavender, or sage). This is optional.

  • A small knife or toothpick

  • A journal or notebook
